  • Ready to complete the program and work toward certification

No purchase, application fee, social-media follow, or public post required. One application per person.

Before you apply

Prepare your video, badge, and paystub.

  1. Your application video in your scrubs, preferably filmed at work. Aim for 60–90 seconds during an approved break or when downtime and facility policy permit. Introduce yourself and explain what certification would change for you, how you will make time to study, and what protecting patients means to you. Use a quiet, permitted area with no patients, coworkers, charts, monitors, restricted work areas, or confidential information in view. Do not interrupt patient care or processing tasks. If your employer prohibits filming, record in a quiet, private place outside work in your scrubs. Your video replaces a separate work photo and written responses.
  2. A photo of your employee badge. Keep your name, employer, and role visible where shown. Cover employee ID numbers, barcodes, QR codes, and access details.
  3. A current paystub dated within 30 days. Leave only your name, employer/payroll company, and pay date or pay period visible. Fully cover pay amounts, deductions, balances, address, SSN, bank/account details, and employee ID numbers.

Video: MP4/MOV, up to 90 seconds and 80 MB. Badge: JPG/PNG. Paystub: JPG/PNG/PDF. Maximum 5 MB per document. Use solid, permanent redactions. Reopen each saved file to confirm hidden details cannot be seen or recovered. If employer policy prevents a required document upload, or you need an accessibility accommodation, contact admin@thesterileprocess.com before the deadline for an approved alternative. Do not email an unredacted document.

Uploads are private verification materials. Your video and documents are not posted publicly or used in promotions without separate permission. Pay amounts are not used to select the recipient.

How the recipient is selected

The Sterile Process will verify eligibility and review applications using the same 100-point rubric: certification goals and expected impact (35), a realistic study plan and commitment (35), and patient-safety reflection (30), based on what you share in your video. Video editing, appearance, accent, equipment, and production quality are not selection criteria. Ties are reviewed using the study-plan score, then the patient-safety score. This is a reviewed scholarship, not a random drawing.

Applications close automatically after October 17 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific. Review takes place October 18. We plan to announce the recipient October 19 after verification. We will contact the selected applicant using the email provided to confirm acceptance and arrange enrollment. A finalist or alternate status does not guarantee an award. If the selected person declines or cannot be verified, an alternate may be contacted.

Your application

Let us hear your story.

All fields are required unless marked optional. Record your own short video in your scrubs, preferably at work. A simple phone recording is enough.

1. About you
2. Your video submission

We prefer a video at work in your scrubs, during an approved break or when downtime and facility policy permit. Choose a quiet, permitted area. Keep patients, coworkers, patient information, restricted work areas, and badge access details out of the frame. Do not interrupt patient care or processing tasks.

Aim for 60–90 seconds. Introduce yourself and your SPD role, then tell us:

  1. What would certification change for you, and what has held you back?
  2. How will you make time to study and complete the program?
  3. What does protecting patients mean to you in your role?

If your employer prohibits filming, record in your scrubs in a quiet, private place outside work. For an accessibility accommodation, contact admin@thesterileprocess.com before the deadline.

3. Employment verification

Review the redaction instructions above before uploading. Files are for private eligibility review only.

4. Submit your application

Keep this page open until you see your confirmation number. Uploading the video alone does not complete your application. Your application does not sign you up for marketing emails.
